The current global pandemic has shown our global interconnectedness. No country or demographic is safe from the impact of a virus that knows no boundaries. Humankind is in a state of panic. We're afraid, uncertain, and filled with dread over an unseen threat that we fight in unified-isolation. For the first time in history, the world has closed, and everyone is at home, waiting.
It is clear that we need each other the most during times of crisis. It is also clear that as humans, we will always need each other to face challenges that threaten our very existence.
Our simple philosophy? Ubuntu.
Ubuntu means "I am because we are". It is an African belief that centers on the concept that we are universally connected; and, because of our shared bond, it is in our benefit to act with humanity towards others. This maxim is a guiding truth that invites us all to share acts of understanding, kindness, love, hope and connection.
This is why we launched the #UbuntuLoveChallenge.
This global initiative is spearheaded by H.R.H Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and Thought Leader, Mamadou Kwidjim Toure, founder of the Africa 2.0 Foundation.
At its core, The #UbuntuLoveChallenge platform is a digital home for universal love. Change-makers and experts around the world will fill the online hub with projects, initiatives and knowledge of love and hope, and it will serve as a powerful totem of humanity in the face of hardship.
In the wake of this worldwide crisis, we are inviting people to reclaim the fear and chaos they feel and channel pain into powerful acts of love.
Join millions of people around the world to make history as The #UbuntuLoveChallenge platform will be filled with projects, initiatives, and knowledge that can be shared to encourage a civilian peer to peer collaboration that addresses current problems and designs solutions for the future.
One thing is certain, after COVID19, the world will never be the same again. The pandemic will lead to various consequences such as economic crisis and other social and technological adjustments. It is urgent to start preparing for such events as we call upon decentralized global solutions.
Through #UbuntuLoveChallenge, we invite change makers to leverage their interconnectedness as agents of positive change and amplify acts of love. Together, we will invite millions of people to actively participate in the co-creation of the world as they imagined it— a New Earth, where we can all live in peace with a renewed sense of togetherness.
